Outdoor Pursuits is Wake Forest Campus Recreation’s adventurous side!

OP offers diverse, creative, student-led outdoor experiential education adventures.  We strive to get students outside, interact, disconnect, belong, release stress and explore gorgeous areas from Pilot Mountain to New Zealand.

Trips

We offer stinkin’ dirt cheap trips ranging from leisurely day hikes to whitewater kayaking class III water to gnarly stuff like Hang-gliding and Skydiving.  All trips are beginner to intermediate difficulty level. Seize the day and be adventurous. Your Instagram will never be so popular.

Crux

Come climb at Wake Forest’s only bouldering facility.  Located in the 3rd floor of Reynolds Gym, the Crux offers a unique indoor recreational opportunity with no experience required to WFU students, faculty and staff.  Shred the gnar.

Rentals

Go forth! We  can rent you the outdoor gear you need for your own adventure for dirt cheap. See our prices on the Rentals page and stop by Reynolds Gym 213 M-F 12-6 to get your gear.  We can even suggest some radical ideas and locations to check out.

 Kayak School

Become a Class III whitewater kayaker in a matter of weeks.  Yeah, we’re serious.  We will start at the basics and end having you punching through Hell Hole on the Ocoee River.  Kayak school includes 2 to 4 pool sessions and two weekend trips with lots of paddling.  No experience required to fall in love with the world’s most beautiful sport.  Participants are highly encouraged to enjoy Mexican food.
